In this series of lessons, we'll use a variety of modeling tools and techniques to construct a female android in Maya. We'll start the process by setting up reference images so our results match more closely. We'll look at how to start blocking in the main elements of our android model. We'll explore methods for cutting geometry apart to use as the various pieces. We'll use smoothing methods to get nice contoured shapes and learn a few ways to create hard, beveled edges to get a machined look. We'll use polygon geometry for the most part, but we'll also use NURBS for a few specific pieces. In the end you'll have a completed android model that you built from scratch, but more importantly, you'll be familiar with the tools and techniques used so you can apply them to your own projects
Tim Clapham returns with a brand new course aimed at motion graphic designers and animators. This term, it's a bit of a departure from Clapham's previous typical course structure as he will be taking you through the development and animation of a channel ident from the initial concept stage, right through to the final rendering and delivery part of the process. In a previous term at fxphd, members were invited to design a logo for a fictional TV channel. The chosen design is the logo we will be using for our ident.

In this DVD Sjoerd "Hourences" De Jong continues his series and goes through the entire production of creating an iOS game using UDK. Sjoerd starts with a blank scene and immediately begins placing custom meshes and then goes into mobile materials, particles, sounds, and fog.
